CMS/ Center for Medicare and Medicaid Services.  The Medicare a
nd Medicaid EMR Incentive Programs will provide incentive payments to eligible professionals, eligible hospitals and critical access hospitals (CAHs) as they adopt, implement, upgrade or demonstrate meaningful use of certiifed EMR technology.

Certification Commission for Health Information Technology.  Founded in 2004, and certifying electronic health records, (EHR) since 2006, the Commission established the first comprehensive, practical definition of what capabilities were needed in these systems.  The certification criteria were developed through a voluntary, consensus-based process engaging diverse stakeholders, and the Certifiaction Comission was offically recognized by the federal government as a certifying body.
  
American Academy Of Family Physicians/Center for Health IT.  No matter where you are in the process of adopting an EMR, the Center for Health IT has resources to help you.  AAFP offers a variety of resources to help determine the best options for successfully implementing an EHR.

American College of Physicians/AmericanEHR Partners.  is a web EMR based resource for electronic medical record system selection/implementation developed by the American College of Physicians and Clients Technologies thta helps you compare certified EHR systems to find the system that best suites your needs.  

Medical Group Managers Association.  MGMA strongly encourages the adoption and use of EMRs to improve clinical performance and streamline administrative functions.  MGMA has resources for selecting, implementing and optimizing an EMR in your medical practice.

Office of National Health Coordinator -- Regional Extension Centers.  These REC centers will support and serve health care providers to help them quickly become adept and meaningful users of EHRs.  RECs are designed to make sure that primary care clinicians get the help they need to use EHRs.
REC will:

   >  Proivde training and support services to assist
       doctors and other providers in adopting 
       EMRS.

   >  OMfer information and guidance to help with
       EHR implementation.

   > Give tecnical assistance as needed..

The goal of the program is to provide outreach and support services to at least 100,000 priority primary care providers within two years.

The 
Healthcare Information Technology Standards Panel (HITSP) is a cooperative partnership between the public and private sectors. The Panel was formed for the purpose of harmonizing and integrating standards that will meet clinical and business needs for sharing information among organizations and systems.The Healthcare Information Management and Systems Society (HIMSS) Sponsored IHE Connectathon brings together leading healthcare information technology companies that work in unison to achieve the common goal of achieving healthcare interoperability by creating a system where health information and patient data is shared amongst disparate systems in an effort to improve and benefit overall population health. Through a common framework provided by IHE, healthcare information technology (HIT) companies such as Greenway Medical can communicate with other HIT companies. PAHCOM is dedicated to promoting professionalism in physician office practice.
